Ever wondered how you can remove those entries in the Recent Files and Recent Projects lists on the File menu (also on the Start page). Well a neat little utility called the MRU Cleaner is available for download across at www.csharper.net. Check out the versions for VS2005 and for the VS2008 beta 1 (not tested against beta 2 but would assume that it would work as it doesn’t appear the file structure has changed).
After install, the MRU Cleaner appears as a “Clear Recent Items…” item in the File menu, right above the Recent Files and Recent Projects list.
When launched the MRU Cleaner allows you to select projects and files to be cleared from the recently used list.
What would be great would be to be able to nominate specific projects/files to always be in this list. If you think this would be a great feature for the next version of Visual Studio then make sure you add your vote/comment to the Connect issue 119140
